Hey love, today I’m diving into something we ALL need to talk about more: Main Character Energy. If you’ve been feeling like you’re in the background of your own life, this is for you. Stepping into that main character energy isn’t just a cute phrase—it’s a way of completely transforming how you live, move, and show up for yourself.

Are You Shrinking Yourself?

Let’s get real for a second: do you find yourself shrinking? Not showing up for yourself, not putting yourself first, feeling apologetic just for existing? That, my friend, is a sign that you’re not embodying your main character energy.

When you’re in your power, you walk into a room and OWN it—not in a “look at me, I’m better than you” way, but with self-love, confidence, and groundedness. When you’re not in that energy, you’re moving through life on autopilot, not even caring about how you feel. You’re going through the motions for others, not for yourself.

What’s Holding You Back?

For so many of us, we’re held back by the belief that we have to “earn” self-care or joy. Maybe you feel guilty doing something just because it feels good. You’ve conditioned yourself to think that enjoyment only comes when it’s productive—like, the only time you let yourself relax is after you’ve cleaned the house, cooked dinner, and answered all your emails.

Girl, let me tell you: taking care of yourself doesn’t need to be earned. It’s necessary. It’s a sign of being grounded in your worth and fully present in your life.

Stop Apologizing for Taking Up Space

Another huge block for many of us is feeling apologetic. If you’re constantly saying sorry—for no reason—you’re probably shrinking yourself. I once saw this firsthand when I was at an event, and a woman laughed at something I said. Her laugh was amazing, but she immediately covered her mouth and apologized. Why? She’d learned somewhere along the way that her joy, her full expression, was “too much.”

Think about how that shows up in your life. Do you apologize for being yourself, for laughing, for taking up space in a room? That’s a sign that you’re not in your power.

What Does Main Character Energy Feel Like?

When you’re in your main character energy, it feels empowered. It’s not about thinking you’re better than anyone else, but knowing that you deserve to be the star of your own story. You show up for yourself, for your own growth, and for your own joy.

When you’re not in that energy, it’s the opposite. You’re disempowered. You doubt yourself, and you feel like you could never be the one to step up, to try something new, to wear that bold lip color, or to speak up in a room. It’s the voice that says, “Oh, I could never pull that off,” or “I could never do that.”

How to Start Stepping Into Your Power

Now that we’ve broken down what it looks like to shrink, let’s talk about what it looks like to step into your main character energy.

1. Shift Your Mindset

Your energy is everything. Start by visualizing how you want to show up as the main character in your life. How would you dress? How would you walk into a room? How would you speak up in a conversation? Get clear on the version of you that feels empowered, confident, and centered.

2. Daily Rituals Matter

Create small daily rituals that help you shift into this energy. It could be as simple as doing a morning routine that centers you, like journaling, meditation, or even just taking five minutes to set your intention for the day.

I love doing my Becoming Her Daily Ritual, which is about 25 minutes of connecting to my higher self. This practice doesn’t rely on willpower or motivation; it’s about mastering your personal energy.

3. Set Boundaries

If you find yourself constantly saying yes to things that drain you, it’s time to set some boundaries. Protect your energy! Remember: you don’t owe anyone an explanation for saying no. 4. Own the Room

Next time you walk into a room—whether it’s a family gathering, an event, or even just the grocery store—stand tall, walk in with confidence, and own your space. You are worthy of being seen and heard. Let yourself be there. Stop apologizing for taking up space.

5. Dress the Part

Let’s not forget the fun stuff! How you dress is a reflection of how you feel about yourself. When you’re embodying your main character energy, even your outfit reflects it. It’s not about wearing designer clothes or a full face of makeup—it’s about choosing things that make you feel good, powerful, and you.

6. Embrace Self-Love

This isn’t just about looking good or walking into a room with your head held high. It’s about loving yourself. Not just “oh yeah, I think I’m OK,” but deep self-love. Where you truly care for yourself, admire yourself, and step into a space of self-adoration. When you start operating from that place, you naturally show up as the main character of your life.

The Power of Visualization

Your imagination is one of the most powerful tools you have. When you imagine yourself as your next-level self, your subconscious mind begins to align with that vision. So visualize yourself stepping into your power, walking through your day as the main character. Ask yourself, “How would I move through this day if I was fully embodying that energy?”

This is about reprogramming your mind to live in abundance, joy, and self-love. You deserve to be the star of your own story—no more shrinking, no more apologizing. It’s time to step into your Main Character Energy.
